General Assembly hall

The 1963 stamps honour the General Assembly. They are cancelled first day, 4 November 1963, on a photograph of the hall itself: delegates in their seats, the rostrum, the emblem on the ribbed wall.

Using a photograph as the cover turns the building into both subject and support. The stamps sit in the empty upper wall of the picture.
