Charter, San Francisco

The Charter was signed in San Francisco on 26 June 1945. For the twentieth anniversary the Postal Administration opened a first-day office in that city, as well as in New York.

This cover is cancelled United Nations, San Francisco. The left side is an embossed cachet: Headquarters between olive branches, and the line “Birthplace of the Charter, San Francisco, 1945.”
